Sun and Moon, USA, 2016
In Sun and Moon, I have placed a gold bronze cast of lava rock above a silvered bronze cast of gentle folds of sand to represent a metaphorical “sun” rising over a “moon.” A curtain of horsehair dramatically descends from the base of the monumental bronze relief and embedded LED lights emit a warm glow. Sun and Moon draws inspiration from the ancient Norse gods of Sol (sun) and Mani (moon).
